For ten years, James Chau has been a television presenter and news correspondent in the China region, first in Hong Kong with TVB Pearl, and now in Beijing for CCTV News where his programs reach more than 10 million people.  He co-fronts the channel’s new show, China 24.

James is the first Chinese person and first journalist worldwide to be appointed by the
United Nations as an UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassador. He works to publicize HIV/AIDS and on the most recent World AIDS Day interviewed UN Under Secretary-General Michel Sidibé and Chinese military singer, Peng Liyuan. He also covered SARS, bird flu and AH1N1 pandemics, the 2005 Tsunami, and reported from the first White House talks between Chinese leader Hu Jintao and U.S. President George W. Bush.

He was twice named to the Young Leaders Summits hosted by Google and HRH Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway, and has been featured for his AIDS work in GQ and Men’s Health. James is a recipient of a journalism fellowship from the National Press Foundation in Washington, DC. He studied at Cambridge University.
